Today it was suggested to me that some of the things I have struggled with learning may not be because I am just lazy and should work harder (which I'd always assumed). It might just be because I am simply not very good at them, and have to work harder to reach a good standard.
I am 40, and I genuinely hadn't ever considered this possibility. This suggests that one of the things I am not very good at is judging my own natural ability. On the other hand, it is immensely liberating.
