By far the most interesting authors I have read are deep conservatives who have read and absorbed a lot of Marxist cultural critique

Christopher Lasch, The Culture of Narcissism - Marxist-minded, psychoanalytic criticism of the decline of the family and the increased emphasis on the individual

Roger Scruton, any book but Modern Culture is probably the best representation - Scruton has said that Marxism critique was right in many ways, it just "reached the wrong conclusions"

Peter Sloterdijk has been described as conservative - you could read Critique of Cynical Reason

I've read Whatever and a friend is lending me his copy of Submission, highly enjoyable as well as interesting but damn can his shit get grim

Atomised is incredibly grim, be warned. Without saying too much, Submission is kind of bitter-sweet and surprising - Houllebecq is an atheist that wants there to be a God

Yeah he's the one I'm most familiar with, also doesn't help that his life is just depressing. I'm pretty sure he predicted the Incel problem
