Such as? I'd love to read some
-
-
-
Christopher Lasch, The Culture of Narcissism - Marxist-minded, psychoanalytic criticism of the decline of the family and the increased emphasis on the individual
-
Roger Scruton, any book but Modern Culture is probably the best representation - Scruton has said that Marxism critique was right in many ways, it just "reached the wrong conclusions"
-
Peter Sloterdijk has been described as conservative - you could read Critique of Cynical Reason
-
Houellebecq - Atomised/ The Elementary Particles
-
(Incendiary choice) Adorno's Dialectic of Enlightenment - probably one of the books most attractive to conservatives

Do you like Christopher Lasch?
-
Yes, I read The Culture of Narcissism many years ago and enjoyed it very much
-
Although I understand he was resistant to put the book into any political camp
-
Yeah, I didn't mean that Lasch was a deep conservative but that his analysis combines Marxism with a small 'c' conservative outlook
-
Sure, I think resisting any political camp is almost the definition of small c conservatism
