Can anyone recommend me some literature on meditation?
That's the aspect I'm most interested in. If there's any neurotic tendency I'm trying to curb its the inability to remain in a single moment; the distraction sickness, which we all have to some extent

Also, and I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, I'm interested in meditation because of my interest in the transcendentalists and, by extension, the Bhagavad Gita - I just dislike the pop form of meditation which seems to prescribe a specific method rather than, as you say, finding

- something which works for you

Changing one's environment and mode of existence seems like an important aspect of meditation to me, whereas the popular form seems more stoic - limiting the extent to which those factors affect you

and in a bizarre sense i would recommend lifting and doing cardio (tho i recommend that to everyone since the benefits are so stupidly high) maybe taking hikes in nature. i dunno.

paying attention, being mindful. i see. that's so difficult in todays society. im not even sure i can offer any advice on that. other than very basic stuff like never turn on notifications on any app, literally put your phone in a diff room when u do important work etc.
