      I've made plenty of salient points in the thread against his (unsourced) claim which he's refused to address, dismissing it with a "found the vegan" instead. Why shouldn't I be similarly petty in response?

      If you don't have evidence ready, and if you trust everything on the news without support, you shouldn't be making sensationalist posts. "Doubled" might mean that there was one death last year and two this year

      The point is that malnutrition is not caused by veganism, it is caused by poorly-handled veganism. Please do not tar an entire dietry choice with the same brush because a few parents don't know their nutrition
