I cannot wait for the time of full automation when our children (who will know only luxury and materialism) will get to spend all of their time fully appreciating and relating themselves to the great artworks of history (largely about toil, suffering and God)
On a related note, I would really recommend Clarke's novel, Childhood's End: about an alien race which comes to earth and accelerates humanity & eventually produces a race of children who bear no relation to their parents. Surprised it isn't more popular in this neck of the woods
