I'm not sure how to phrase this: much of art which is transgressive, which takes every liberty afforded to it by society to its logical extreme; which presents progressivism in its literal form, is usually morally conservative

Kids received criticism for being conservative despite (or, in fact because) Korine refuses to give the film a "moral compass". The reality of liberated sexuality is presented stark naked, and its image suffers for itpic.twitter.com/KmSjNeSObX

'The Curious Case of Tory Anarchism' has a lot on Chris Morris as well as earlier British satirists like Peter Cook and Spike Milligan. I think a degree of cultural and moral conservatism is inevitable for satire given how institutionalized progressivism is.

I ran across the term "Tory Anarchism" recently and was surprised I hadn't come across it before through Orwell. Will almost definitely give this a read. Thanks
