I have to say that, since joining /lit/ twitter, I've been disappointed by the overemphasis on philosophy and politics (boring) and the underemphasis on literature. And where the latter is employed, it's only as a vehicle for the former two

Another problem of the scientific/ philosophical approach is that it creates an atmosphere in which people take everything they read as a sincere belief of the poster, rather than a word experiment aiming to create some kind of effect, regardless of its political truth

this will sound incredibly lame but clicking through people’s profiles on the goodreads threads until i found enough i liked and then leaving the board was pretty nice
