Why do some think that Islam has some special invulnerability against the market that isn't shared by Christianity? That the free market was born out of, and likely integrated parts of protestantism, would suggest that a cultural christianity has the best case of survival, no?

I think it's a weird paradox that England, which has essentially become de facto secular since the reformation, has retained (for better or worse) a tinge of religious sentiment which has made it more christian than other, more stridently religious states
But it's probably true that it's not Christianity in a strict sense. But hey, you can be orthodox or you can be effective
