Do they have a way to lower the net all the way down to the deck to offload the fairing?

Yes. Just super hard to decipher what happened in this situation. Last time this faring half arrived back at port inside the net. So who knows.

The shot IS beautiful. Perhaps the lines that I see running almost parallel to the arms are attached to a lowered fairing half. Maybe lowering the captured fairing at sea benefits Mr. Stephen in some way.

A close look at the cables show that the net was lowered at some time. They could have caught the fairing half, lowered it to the deck and then shimmied the net from underneath it so it could be folded and stowed. However it pans out, it looks like progress!

Thanks for your insights from afar! But John, have you ever worked as a deck hand? We need an inside person on Mr. Steven and I nominate you! Just don’t get recognized while on board!
