I'm weirdly upset that ever since we got solar + batteries installed we've had zero power outages. The year before we did we had two week-long ones, and many one or two day ones.

Today, in a code review, the #aspnetcore team rejected my proposal to name an interface ICanBindEndPoint. Apparently, the I interface prefix can't be used to also refer to the current instance. This is a miscarriage of justice, and I will be appealing to the .NET supreme court.

Is there any meaningful way to debug Spotify Connect just not being able to connect to devices? Either DLNA or Google Play. Often things work fine and then an hour later it can't connect.

This is really well said. Size of PRs isn't really the issue as much as focus.

Replying to @antumbral
IMO it should be less "make your PR small" and more "make your PR have 1 focused intent". When people give me PRs that mix 3 different concerns + a refactor it's hard to determine why things are changed but a several thousand line change can be easy to review if the goal is clear

Far more impressed by Steam Deck than I expected to be. The design is very nice. I expected something thick and chunky, this is basically a wider Switch.

So turns out to remove the speaker grille of the rear gull wing doors in a Model X, you have to basically take apart the entire interior door trim. Of course, this is where a past service appointment introduced a loud rattle. Mobile service it is.

To be fair, Google Stadia faced terrible odds in the past 3 years, having to deal with: - a global pandemic forcing people to turn to online entertainment. - graphic cards and console shortages, creating high demand for alternatives. If only they hit the market at a better time

I gave my Starlink dish to my parents and turned on mobility, they’ve spent a few weeks driving around California, Idaho, and Canada in their van, having internet wherever they go. It’s not great at home any more when there are other options, but for this it’s been amazing.

It's wild that Python's solution to package and dependency versions is to just give up, and just have you duplicate everything everywhere

And on the 8th day, God created the God App and asked everyone to download it and allow location sharing and enable tracking and access to the camera and the microphone and turn on notifications and automatic updates and subscribe for news and write a review on the app store

Given how often phone manufacturers want us to get a new phone, you’d think “let’s make sure everything moves over” would be a priority

Major snoozes by the windows in my office, and every morning for the past few days he’s at some point jumped up and stared intently at what looked like nothing, from what I could see from my desk. Today, I got up to look, and

My kingdom for a tool to synchronize common key bindings between Rider/AppCode, VS Code, and Xcode. I just hit ⌘⇧O / ⌘⌥O / ⌘⇧⌃N like a maniac until the right thing happens, same with ⌘[ / ⌃- / ⌘←
