PlayStation VR2: 13 new titles and launch lineup revealed

More than 30 games on track for release starting February 22.

Sony confirmed all cars and tracks will be playable in GT7 VR, a free VR update to Gran Turismo. They also stated the game will take advantage of eye tracking and foveated rendering 👀

I mean, you could buy a PS5, a PSVR 2 headset and some games for this price 😳

I used to be a sucker for all this new hardware. Now, unless the hardware comes with new content, I really struggle to get excited.

This headset is aimed at consumers btw. Pretty pricey and not really revolutionary specs on paper. I'm curious to try it though. The critical part for HTC will be getting their standalone store up to par.

I love the Quest Pro controllers but my god they're infuriating. If I take the headset off to do something (which I'm sure in business you do a lot) when I come back they never seem to wake up again? This means I need to restart the headset (Quest 2) Anyone else have this issue?

For those interested in this. It's called EMU VR, a retro emulator for PC VR. It takes a bit of effort to setup your room with posters, items and game art but the payoff is totally worth it. Oh and it's free! Check it out and support the devs here

With the VR mod, I felt I couldn't sit here and complain about the state of VR games without making some kind of effort to bring something to the table myself. It's a game I love and I think it'll be epic in VR! It's been in planning for months but we finally broke ground on it.

Aside from making videos I'm involved in three VR projects moving into the new year; 1) Testing and providing feedback on new VR hardware. 2) Marketing for a PC VR to Quest 2 port. 3) Self funding development of a VR mod for a kickass PC game. I can't wait to share more in 2023!

I'm gutted to hear John Carmack is leaving Meta. He's one of the original believers in modern VR. His talks at Connect were always a highlight for me, he told it how it was without the sugar coating. Thank you for all your hard work, VR wouldn't be where it is now without you.

My guess is they'll be pushing their Viveport Infinity service (monthly gamepass like subscription) as it already supports standalone VR content.

The Vive Flowcus? 🤔😂

HTC will be announcing their new standalone VR / AR headset at CES on 5th Jan 2023. It looks like a mix of Vive Flow and Vive Focus. The critical details will be the price and their content strategy.
