A lot of newspapers ( and ) rely upon AP exclusively. As you can imagine, there is plenty of room for error. Over the years, we've seen instances during the night where the AP is right and DOE is wrong -- and vice versa. MORE->

Our blend gives priority to the feed that has the most complete results, which is measured in the most number of votes. But sometimes more votes doesn't mean a feed is faster; it means the feed has inflated numbers by transposing numbers or some other error. MORE->

Last night in HD85, the final AP results included a couple of thousand more votes than the DOE final votes. Our team failed to notice this -- and that is on us. We should have had systems in place to flag a situation like this. MORE->
