The midterm election confirmed once again that black women show up for progressive candidates. But white women? Not so much.https://bit.ly/2DbD2RI

        (1) This result is incredibly disappointing (2) I know this is very "not all white women" but the fact is that white college women did vote big time for Dems. It's white non-college women who vote so heavily R. The discrepancy is important to note if we want to try to change it

I'm blue collar and I vote BLUE(parents were from MI),and I live in a sea of Red(FL).Go easy on Red women. It's how they were raised. If you start swinging at them they'll get defensive and blindly dig their heels in so go slo.😀 They have daughters

I don't think I said anything negative about blue collar women (or women who vote red). That certainly wasn't the intent of my comment. My point was simply that for the purposes of building a winning coalition, we need to know who we've got and who we're having trouble reaching

No,I'm just saying women who tend to vote red are hard to reach. It's part of the culture and very ingrained in their lives. As young girls if they stray from the norm they can be ostracized or be even kicked out of the house for believing differently.

Odd how this comment is reminding me of the tales I hear of strict Islamic families who also repress women...

The results also showed that 49% of white women who vote show up for democratic candidates. Why do you keep leaving that out from the report. Don’t lump progressive women into a false narrative that all white women vote republican. Half the white females vote progressive.

What was the percentage of BW? Let’s include that as well. Ppl really need to admit that BW are the only demo getting it right and the sh*t is tiring when others are not doing their parts but what to swoop in once the heavy work is done.

That’s also in the article I posted that summarizes the voting rates. Yes white women in red states need to get their 💩 together. My point is, minority women aren’t alone. There are people like those in my predom. white state who voted in a black congresswoman+gov+distatty+city.

In my state senate district, the “universe” of 1s and 2s for the dem was 72% 🚺. The campaign volunteers, 80% 🚺. Suck on that white guys and stop blaming 🚺for not “winning” enough for your taste. Y’all wonder if we can win w/🚺candidates? We’re doing the work (as usual).

The majority of white women fear true equality will put them at a serious disadvantage, so they are content to settle for the guaranteed 2nd place their white privilege affords them. We need to stop acting like we're learning this for the 1st time with each election. 1/

What we as WOC, & White women who ARE NOT afraid of true equality need to decide is if we are going to continue to treat these women as allies, or if we're going to treat them as enemies. 2/2

WOC have been Voting for progressive democrats forever. That you don't believe democrats are progressive is your problem. WOC are the base of the democratic party and your assertion that they're not progressive is insulting.

Because black women still don’t understand that “progressives “ are actually regressive and that you all don’t care about us. I’m hoping next election more will understand
