Those uncomfortable benches and ultra-bright lights you find in some public spaces aren't just an eyesore, they're part of a growing trend called "hostile design." More often than not, they're designed as a deterrent to homeless people. #WorldHomelessDaypic.twitter.com/MZAqi7OtP7

So.. are all you pro "hostile design" people ok with hostile design without a corresponding increase in social services and homeless programs?

Sorry. Have no huge problem with discouraging vagrancy. If you want to provide services to the mentally ill, there are better ways than ceding streets and public transportation to their symptoms.

Good. Homeless sleeping all over the place turns the city in to a literal shithole. Look what’s happening to places like Seattle and San Francisco.

Sadly, the more traditional designs can't be used by the public often times because a person is sleeping on them.

This is a weird NIMBY argument purely against the poor... Then again Airports have the same designs.
