@SenJeffFlake, @tedcruz, @JohnCornyn you have affirmed that our government is of old rich white men, by old rich white men and for old rich white men. But not for long! #womenarewatching

FEELS LIKE AMERICA JUST GOT SOLD A REALLY BAD USED CAR . . . .
-
I appreciate your restraint, but I think your metaphor is an enormous understatement. It's more like we bought a used car in an apocalyptic future in which there will be no more cars, and the only one left had a dead body in the trunk, which is jammed, and also it rapes somehow.

So nothing Flake said matters because it's still going for a vote. He's now just able to say that he's on the record for thinking there should be a further investigation.
-
True. But it buys a week.
-
No, he only suggeted that they should. He has no power to actually delay or have this investigated.
-
I think he said that he would vote no on the floor if there was no investigation and others would follow, but I feel like Lucy is holding the football again.
-
What would the implications have been had he actually voted no during this committee meeting? Would it have ended the nomination completely? If he felt that way, why not vote No today?
-
Because he doesn't really feel that way. It's all about perception. But I believe Ford and I think Kavanaugh could withdraw rather than lie to the FBI? But then we get someone worse in. I know, it's all a show, women are screwed for another generation.
-
I have little moments of hopefulness crushed on a daily basis

Why, so Flake can give concern looks and make grand speeches before he votes yes?

What happens next? What if the White House refuses to put forward an investigation?
-
Flake shrugs and says, "I tried!"

That’s not going to happen. If Flake was so concerned he’d have voted no today. He’s a fraud.

Yes, because Flake is very confident he can vote Yes in committee and Mitch McConnell will delay the vote in the floor.
