regarding the Valorant anticheat always running on your PC: at this point Riot and the Chinese government can mine bitcoin, take my personal information, social security number, and first born child if it'll stop cheaters in online gaming

gamers please stop yelling at me this isn't a real tweet, cheaters will never be stopped and Tencent already has all of our personal information

actual take: intrusive anticheat bordering on malware is quite bad. fighting cheaters in online video games is extremely hard. finding a middle ground between the two while still being effective and not pissing off consumers is almost impossible

is there a security person that can confirm Vanguard (Riot) is more intrusive than Warden (Blizzard), Easy Anti Cheat (Epic), VAC (Valve), ESEA, or FaceIt? is Vanguard the only one to always run on your PC? What is the difference between them all?

It's not necesarily more intrusive, you can spy as much as you want in usermode. The only difference between other kernel anti-cheats is that vanguard loads at boot time, which is *super* smart for system integrity reasons. (1/n)
