@vk2zay do you feel the same way about light field capture?
Spherical photos and video are not VR! They are one form of content you can experience in a HMD, but they basically suck.

@vk2zay I didn't know grumpy grandpas were engineers at Valve! I'll get off your lawn right after I shit on whatever you're working on.0 retweets 5 likes -
@BJ_Schwartz I'm only working on making it possible for your consumers to view your content once you invent volumetric cinematography. ;)0 retweets 3 likes -
@vk2zay you do know it's more than possible to add volumetric effects to a cinematic experience, right?0 retweets 0 likes -
@BJ_Schwartz sure. I mean only that the basic art of cinematography when your audience can move and look anywhere is in its infancy.0 retweets 0 likes -
@vk2zay gotcha. I can't wait for the technology to advance allowing you to tweet more than 140 characters so you can be clearer ;)0 retweets 0 likes

@vk2zay what of static generate CG expieiences with no interaction? Subjective to dictate what VR is or isn’t at this stage.1 retweet 2 likes -
@Filmbot some of them can be compelling, especially realtime rendered ones you can translate in without breaking your brain.0 retweets 0 likes -
@vk2zay I agree its wild west in terms of content both CG & live action. Compelling content w/ story done right is what will help VR succed0 retweets 3 likes

@ajohnclark sure, I own a Theta I use a lot too. Still has no depth information and breaks your brain as soon as you translate or roll.0 retweets 1 like - View other replies

@vk2zay also there is a lively debate about your tweet in 360 VR Video Professionals group on FB if any interest.0 retweets 0 likes -
@ajohnclark@vk2zay The lively debate on FB is also not going well for Alan Yates' position, no friends over there0 retweets 4 likes

I think VR is on a continuum and 360 video is simply on the lower end of the scale vs CGI

@TweetEdMiller I agree with that, however the vast majority of 360 stuff today is low-fi "hey lets put gopros on a stick and call that VR!"0 retweets 3 likes - View other replies

@TweetEdMiller Yeah, OZO is one thing that looks like the right direction. The thing I'm worried about there is resolution and framerate tho0 retweets 2 likes -
@DeeKej those can be improved. It's the different approach than#googlejump or stereo pairs that's so exciting. It's the right way to do 3d.0 retweets 1 like
