Fantastic change in iOS 14.3 beta 2 – shortcuts added to the Home Screen now use compact UI and don't launch the Shortcuts app anymore.
Which means custom icons like our own MacStories Shortcuts Icons will now run shortcuts in-place, just like widgets 😍

Interesting. What are the differences between running a shortcut from a widget and this? Do shortcuts run from Home Screen icons have limitations that widget shortcuts don’t? Does this remove the need for single shortcut widgets (except for aesthetic purposes)?

Great, more functionality that only Apple/Shortcuts can provide that the rest of us third party developers will never be allowed to do. 🙄

That check mark on the top of a screen annoys me though, is there a way to prevent it from popping up? Doesn't act as a notification, so disabling notifications for Shortcuts didn't work.
