  5. Book Track is an interesting, good-looking new book tracking app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac (made in 🇮🇹, too). Some initial shortcomings, but a lot of potential. One to keep an eye on over the next few months. Our review:

Since the fall, we've offered a monthly sponsorship of the MacStories Shortcuts Archive (). If your app is for an audience that is into Shortcuts and automation, this is a great way to reach them. Email me at voorhees@macstories.net

And to give you a practical example: I like iPadOS a lot, and I use it for work, but I don't think it's perfect. And I don't think it's a disaster either. Here's how I dedicated a page of my iPadOS 13 review to the issues with multitasking:

Perhaps I'm too optimistic, but I honestly don't think anything at Apple is "tragic", "rotten", or otherwise damaged beyond repair. Apple tech is not perfect, but I firmly believe it still retains the same magic and power of 10 years ago. We try hard to write about that.

Have to agree with this sentiment by . Pessimism has become the new default mode in our little corner of the Internet. It's not what I like. It's why we try – and it's very difficult – to report issues, be fair, but maintain positivity.

I made it to the Great Ball tier (#8) in season 2 of ranked double battles in . It's not Master Ball, but I'm very happy given I've never played competitive and have been away from Pokémon for over a decade. Goal for season 3: Ultra Ball tier 💪

Always a pleasure to share some thoughts about Apple's past year in 's report card. Such a good historical resource he's built over time from a diverse group of people.

The updated Overcast with AirPlay 2 and Voice Boost 2 is out. I tested this new version and it's amazing – I switched back to Overcast because of these features. Voice Boost 2 is fantastic. Our review:

It turns out that was right about the nature of the “pinched hand” emoji. It’s a celebration of Italian hand gestures!

For those who listened to the latest episode of – this is exactly what I wanted. A shortcut to de-AMP a webpage and open the canonical URL.

However as you mentioned, AMP does cause issues with JavaScript extensions. These extensions also tend to use the page’s URL and not the canonical one. I made a quick shortcut that uses Run JavaScript on Webpage to load the canonical URL if there is one:

re: AMP annoyances on this week’s . Safari finds the canonical URL as specified by the page (which for AMP is the real page’s URL) and shares that when using the Share Sheet. You can see it in the header. Copy and other extensions get the canonical URL
