Excited to share this work! We used 7T fMRI to investigate free recall of objects and scenes. We found the strongest encoding-recall similarity in regions anterior to scene and object selective cortex. Results suggest that recall is not just a reactivation of encoding patterns.

4 experiments and >440 participants later... my first postdoc project! We find that semantic knowledge can boost accuracy of new episodic memories, but the way that it is organized can also affect how those memories are distorted.

Absolutely fantastic paper on my favorite memory phenomenon - boundary extension! Except it's not just boundary extension (it's also contraction) and it's not memory (it's also perception). A great read!

Earlier this year, we reported a color-shape interaction selective for faces , which makes a surprising prediction: that face-selective cells should be color tuned. New work shows it's true:

New preprint! We conduct a large-scale study of (N=63) - an inability to form mental images - and discover a selective impairment in recall for object information but high spatial accuracy. Work with

Out today in PNAS: We see MTL theta as people navigate the world, but do we also see it as they "navigate" their memories? Yes! We found that hippocampal theta increased as subjects jumped between memories in abstract temporal and semantic spaces.

New in : Some images are easier to remember than others. Why? In addition to the 'spike pattern' coding scheme assoc. w/ identity, IT cortex also codes info. by spike numbers, and pop. response magnitude is a strong predictor of memorability.
