Just shows how systematic this is: 25 authors, 2 reviewers & the editors : it didn't strike any1 at anytime during the entire process? And when you have a loud Black Lives Matter movement on at the moment? This would not have happened if you had diversity at all levels...1/2
I agree Soumitra--and am not making excuses (as a co-author)--exactly as you say, this is a powerful example of how deeply entrenched systems of exclusion become, which doesn't excuse my/our individual responsibilities.
I understand you are not making excuses. But I want to know what is being done to change this for the future?
I haven't even seen the Lancet group acknowledge this. As Editors aren't they as cupable? I know the only thing that happens is I will be branded a trouble maker & excluded from the table. But I am comfortable in my own skin & that does not bother me.
