There’s nothing wrong with trauma. It’s the pathologization of trauma that really messes with people. It’s everyone acting like trauma is something terrifying that they’ll never be able to deal with. If you get to believe that you’re helpless, you’ll become helpless indeed.

Yes! Sharing the trauma makes it much easier to bear. But modern society actively discourages this. If you’re feeling depressed, the expectation is that you go see a therapist or take some pills. Sharing your trauma with friends or family is perceived as a burden.

Yeah, we're busy "erasing the stigma", but ppl can still get fired for needing too many therapy days, or just being mentally ill in general. Good luck proving there's a bias! Coming out as mentally ill has bad real world consequences, and it sucks.
