What’s a quick read (<1hr), in any format, that either changed your life or is something you’d recommend to everyone?

In my team at GitHub, we'd like to study examples of "nefarious commits" in open source, which introduce a bug on purpose. Can you point me at such commits? Could it have been detected by analysing the committer's behaviour as well as the code change itself?

Sometimes I read or hear someone say that what a particular codebase needs is more documentation/commenting. Be careful what you wish for, you may get it. 'More' is rarely what you want; 'better' is normally what you want. Don't wish for quantity when what you need is quality.

To be explicit, ... I asked it in sarcastic manner. I guess that file doesn't really belong to public domain. Luckily that SaaS system is not online anymore.

Is there a better way for storing customer data than exporting to Excel sheet and uploading it to public Github repo?

That anything can be coded - piece by piece, learning while progress. I learned that in my first programming work, where I was asked to code something totally unknown for me and I succeeded. Thanks to my boss for trust.

Note those learning to program: I have a Master's degree in computer science and over 25 years in software development. I just spent 30 minutes debugging this. Don't give up.

If there’s one lesson I would like the next generation of developers to learn, it is to spend less time doing hard things and more time making hard things easy. Customers benefit from the former. Customers and peers and we ourselves benefit from the latter.

Another reason of why uses - Performs actual tree-shaking vs uglify code elimination - Simpler, no made-up APIs, just standards - Emits ESM code without ANY runtime (delegating in what all browsers can do) - No deps - Emitted code is human-friendly - Faster
