This is a heartfelt letter. Unfortunately I don't think that Mayor Breed or your Supervisor can do much here. I would look at the criminal record of the people doing the shooting. If they were released after any recent crimes, you know the answer to your question.

It's very clear the DA and supervisors don't care about crime and consider incidents like shootings and theft acceptable losses to the greater cult goals. The police department has been allowed to fall over 400 officers short and nobody is applying to work for SFPD. cont..

The academy class that usually starts with 50 new recruits started with just 19..over the 8 months academy 5 or 6 will fail. Another 2 to 3 will fail out of field training. That's approximately 10 new officers ready in a year from now. Cont

In that year the department will lose 60 to 70 officers to injuries, retirement or fired. So in a year from now the police department could be nearly at half it's recommended staffing levels. Couple that with a DA and politicians who don't care and criminals will flock to sf.
