This guy is a true embarrassment, this was a simple question not intolerance towards immigrants. We are a country that welcomes diversity but shouldn’t be taken advantage of the way the push of illegal immigrants are doing. This method is dangerous & destroying Canada

The problem is that they're not "illegal," & realistically the media who use that term regarding them are relying on dogwhistles to racist members of the conservative community in order to rally their base. Basically, this woman may not be intolerant, but her language is.

illegal immigrants is a press term there are no such thing . There are refugees and there is not law about them . We have more than enough to share and the false press that we are in a crisis is pc lies and fear mongering by them

Not the way the law is currently written, no. These people are doing what they are doing in order to get around the problematic Safe Third Country Agreement. Instead of being able to apply for refugee status at the border, they have to cross the border then report to authorities

i know a guy who got arrested, deported and banned from entering for 2 years because his employer scammed him and tried to bring him in with a tourist visa instead of a work visa. But someone can walk in unchecked and expect to be fine ?

What they can "Expect" is to go through a legal proceeding to see if their refugee claim is legitimate or not. If it is, they get let in, and if not, they get sent home. If you want to complain about something, complain about how long that process takes because it's underfunded.

Ok so question who's footing the bill on all the expenses for legal proceedings about their claims and paying for shelter, food, healthcare etc. Is it the taxpayers? federal? provincial? How is the cost split?
