One of the most worrying aspects of lockdown. The refuges were subject to massive cuts in funding over the past ten years and we can only hope that they are managing to help every woman who needs them now their existence is more important than ever.

It would be less of an issue if so many of the vital services including shelters hadn't had to close due to that government's cuts to that sector over the past decade.

There is also a wider question here post the lockdown how do we enable women and men to remove themselves from toxic/abusive relationships in a safe and sensitive/supportive way. Enable them to protect their children and future children from feeling their is no escape.
