It is interesting that people work on increasing longevity, but not on increasing appetite for life.
I think the median appetite for life is about ~30y, and if you live to be ~70, you have a problem. Most of us solve it by rationing our appetite and acting dead in between.

What is “Appetite for life”? Today you want to live another day, tomorrow would feel like a today when you get there, therefore you want to live forever.

Well a 50% appetite for life = today you want to live, and the crappiness of today means tomorrow you want to kill yourself, but do nothing and just chill, and day after tomorrow you take another shot

Same thing, then. Today you want to kill yourself but didn't, and tomorrow would feel like another today when it arrives, therefore you want to live forever.
