How come height doesn't serve as a basis for identity group formation the way skin color, gender, or even weight do? Why don't shorter-than-average people pursue collective action?

I think a common complaint is something like "Why are women allowed to say in their Tinder profile that they wont date below a certain height, but I can't say I wont date above a certain weight?"

Good question! Especially weird considering weight is relatively more controllable than height

Perhaps that is why weight is an identity variable: the primary mode of discrimination arises from people thinking it is way more controllable than it actually is.
I think it may also come down to the mental state we associate with both. If all we know is overweight, we're probably going to assume they aren't quite as happy. One of the first things that comes to mind when you think "short man" is Napoleon complex
