How come height doesn't serve as a basis for identity group formation the way skin color, gender, or even weight do? Why don't shorter-than-average people pursue collective action?

I don't know but I feel initially uncomfortable around short women, and instant kinship with tall women (I'm 5'11) even if we have no other reason to be un/friendly

That’s a presidential height you really should run for office

Because shorties hate one another more than they hate tallies.

I’ve wondered about birth-order along those lines. First-borns surely have more in common with each other statistically than any supposed racial grouping, for instance.

That one is easy. Birth order is not a visible trait like skin color and personality effects are too fuzzy to be reliable indicators.

I wonder that all the time. For example, basketball needs a 5'6" -5'11" class just like weightlifting is categorized by weight ranges. It is such a shame that you have to clear a threshold to want to play basketball.

Partly also because there is no common enemy or prejudice that short people are fighting against. No equivalent like harassment and sexism for women, racism for color, and sizeism for weight.

I don't think this is it. Most short people don't counteract. I think reason is that there are both short men *and* women, and most men and women both only care about the man being taller, not absolutely tall.
