Suckiest thing about jet lag is not time lost to sleepiness when you could be up and about doing things. It is being up and alert at ungodly hours with nothing to do, next meal hours away. Ungodly screen time only disrupts cycles longer (tweeting this on grey+night mode screen)

I would typically just sit through sleepiness until the local evening and go to sleep then. Otherwise you would re-seat your cycle at whatever wrong point of falling asleep, and that is WAY harder to fix.
