I used to prepare for travel, especially international, with way more OCD in the past, before smartphones. Now I still sincerely *intend* to, but invariably give up and just muddle through. No clearing home decks, just hit pause; low research, JIT plans, on-site googling...
They do actually. Big companies and rich people use them for more complex travel, but exec assistants do most arranging.

Not just rich people. It usually costs the same to use a travel agent (if not less), saves you time, and gives you impartial expert advice
