I used to prepare for travel, especially international, with way more OCD in the past, before smartphones. Now I still sincerely *intend* to, but invariably give up and just muddle through.
No clearing home decks, just hit pause; low research, JIT plans, on-site googling...

Sounds like you have no need to navigate the minefields of visas, visa-free connections at various airports and the rest of international travel bureaucracy that absolutely can't be handled later than months in advance.

Yeah most of the time. The magic of the US passport. Was very different when I was on an Indian passport.

They do actually. Big companies and rich people use them for more complex travel, but exec assistants do most arranging.
