Air pressure changes during transit
Got some special-order chips and when we opened the box, 2 of the 3 bags inside had partly split open at the top or bottom seal (no tears). The chips still seem crisp and fresh. The box seems fine. What is the most likely explanation?

Hmm I don’t think these came by air, do you think ground elevation changes or temperature fluctuations in trucking could do it?

Expansion of the bag during air transit led to them bursting? Two weakest seals burst first, but the third held strong?

I voted other before realizing my explanation fit one of the categories. Oops.

maybe like those air-filled packing pillows: if they get crushed the pressure ruptures the weakest part, the sealed seam
