This feels like an understudied thing. I basically don’t answer live unless it’s someone I know anymore. Voice is now effectively a way to dictate crappy emails to each other via transcription now thanks to the spam. nytimes.com/2018/05/06/you

That's something i was rather surprised to experience in Brazil when i got a local sim card - there were advertisers cold-calling the phone once or twice a week. That almost never happens back home. How bad is it in the states?

Varies. Sometimes nothing for a week then 3-4 times in a single day. It was much worse about a year ago. They’ve clamped down a bit somehow.

Would not surprise me if iOS switched away from the “take over your screen when a phone call comes in” thing in the next version.

I’ve never understood why there isn’t a feature on iOS that says, “Send straight to voicemail if the number isn’t in my contacts.” What is preventing Apple and Google from helping users screen calls?
