I'll bet those people complaining of appropriation thinks ketchup is part of their food culture - which is the real cultural appropriation.

rising wealth inequality (by which i mean a low α parameter) one can imagine has a homogenizing force due to all the decisions being made by a few people at the top (and likely preoccupied with drubbing each other while exploiting the rest)
