If you acquired fuck-you $, how long would you be able to hang out on the beach/travel before you went nuts and started a new thing?
If you’ve done this already, how long did you last in leisure society?
Call it fuck-off number, measured in months.
I suspect mine is 3 months

Why do you see the two as mutually exclusive? With fu-money you no longer get distracted by work from working, rather than be forced into a supervacation.

I did this - pretty much unbridled hedonism, started getting antsy/losing interest around the three month mark

I would say about 3 to 4 weeks. I have a ton of freedom now to take time off. My non active hobbies are mostly reading, which inspire me to create, which makes me antsy to create. I don't think I could go too long reading things without wanting to create or work on things.

Tried twice. 30 days. That too cheating on the sunset with a notepad for jotting ideas.

The idea of just “being there” and not constantly pushing forward scares me. I’ve known up close how slowing down for leisure can quickly change to stagnation, so personally my mind would be on “the next thing” when I see the current one coming to a close.
