An unexpected effect of this evolution (which is organic/natural and neither my doing nor my preference) is that I'm not actually that good at it anymore.
Others with a more classical-craft mindset are better at it. I'm looking for a Next-Big-Idiom to ride from pop-->classical

"Refactored perception" has evolved in a decade from a pop-craft (simple and obvious inversions and rotations, cheap gotchas and ahas) to "classical" (bag of subtle tricks, microtones, fugues, requiring a literacy to parse)
Result: more time/word, more demands on reader 2/2
