I'm not very craft-oriented in writing (thanks for the thought prompt), but..
"Refactored perception" as a sort of self-conscious writing idiom has definitely acquired some definition as a craft over the last decade despite my weakness at craft-thinking 1/2
Conversation
"Refactored perception" has evolved in a decade from a pop-craft (simple and obvious inversions and rotations, cheap gotchas and ahas) to "classical" (bag of subtle tricks, microtones, fugues, requiring a literacy to parse)
Result: more time/word, more demands on reader 2/2
