It’s not hard to work out stats of a flourishing society. A serious swing at an identity-defining win takes ~2 years, and you need a nonzero-sum win before age 30 to not turn into a sucky human. So economy needs to give *average* people 7 tries with 1/7 win probability by 30

Yeah not economic. Just identity defining. The sense that your life has a meaning and purpose and that you’re needed on the human stage.

I think the engine of it has to be economic even if not everybody’s win is defined in economic terms.

You can’t really solve anomie so much as manage it. And ideal level is not zero, since it’s a generative force in small doses.
