Whether it is a good or bad thing, I think it’s mostly moms who do this in practice. Dads tend not to be tuned in enough to do it well, but maybe they’ve gotten better since I was a kid.

er well yes, often... there are a lot of reasons for that, & most of them aren't things I want to see perpetuated. I'm guessing you don't either if you think about it. as a joke it's mildly tiring; if you weren't joking I'd find it pretty upsetting.

I have no kids and no firm opinion, but views seem divided on whether MomBranding is perpetuating oppressive gender role stereotypes or acknowledging the reality of maternal instincts. My guess is the latter has at least some biological basis.
