Yes, it’s all over, at all levels, to varying degrees And yeah I’ve seen physical examples in the past (eg ethnic violence between neighborhoods in a city between people who even look the same and in normal times get along)

I don’t doubt that. People act out conflict differently offline. For example cops get more trigger happy, more mass shooters, etc. There’s also compensatory self-segregation Offline tends to gather critical mass and explode in bigger ways (riots) than endemic continuous conflict

Offline they’d do other things like spit in your food as waiters or spread rumors behind your back or something. The impulse is not created by the medium. The medium merely determines how it is expressed. And most media are rich enough in assholing possibilities for most people
