By a collegial podcastosphere, you mean, groups of creators who become acquainted through their work? If so—sure they do.

The content can't be indexed and interlinked nearly as easily as text blogs. Those easy interconnections lead to community building

+1--its more difficult to engage with the content. add'l, imo the written word is more async friendly than the spoken word which I expect is another factor
