If someone made up a twitter that was basically only the polling function as main tweets, with free text being restricted to replies, I’d move there

That ability is unfortunately (and obviously) limited based on the size of your network.
The downside of a unidirectional graph network means that certain methods of use are limited to only one side of the graph.
