Heh, if you wrote about this seriously, I'd read it instantly. Reading about insider FB goes on "procrastinate on keeping up with industry" work pile. But TV show revisionism goes to top of fun pile. Here's my 2015 take on BM. I wasn't too happy with it

The one thing that's changed for me with recent seasons is that they went from pure cringey to cringey+funny. I liked the most recent season the best. The robot dog episode was hilarious dark humor.

Venkat's criticism is, of course, thoughtful -- but I don't think he fact it is 'formulaic' detracts. The storybeat/formula is a fundamental Stranger in a Strange Land -- which is exactly about the effect of technology on society.
