the increase of tribal affiliations vs independent thinking. It is self-defeating for parties to address, but offers the only real path to an enlightened democracy.

Not sure of the word, but a problem is that everyone has a sense that someone is out to fuck them over, and they're often right

The domination mindset doesn't work anymore. Capital moats are giving way to intellectual/creative meritocracy. Nuclear weapons and integrated economies make war self-defeating. Working hard is not enough. Working smart is weakening as well. Too much smart AND hard outside the US
