Back in the day, my preferred tool was discarded one-sided print-out paper
I use free notebooks/pads too but these days, I mostly use ipad digital notes

iPad for handwritten notes? I haven’t found a good way to do that. Most text I read is already digital so much easier to import selected passages directly into Evernote

Yes it's quite a distinct difference. I practically never write down my own thoughts. I assume if I thought it once, I'll probably think of it again. And probably better next time. I wonder what basic assumption or belief underlies this difference
