I’m going to call this anticonservatism. Conservatism: assume all humans are irredeemably corrupt Progressivism: assume all humans have at least a small chance of evolving into their best selves Anticonservatism: Better that many guilty go free than one innocent be hanged

I've learned over time that the heart of conservatism is: a flame that must be kept alive, that all would recognize. It's earnesty, with different flames for different cults, but they do all believe that at core. There's actually not much pessimism/realism (to their detriment).
