Anyone know who first compared fake news to a cognitive ddos attack? I can find tweets as far back as Jan 2017 but no definite origin cc @noUpside
I don't think it's useful to go that far back... ddos is a very specific metaphor that is actionable in botnet form factor by malicious actors. Toffler and Shirky's models aren't about malicious action.

actually, it might've been a RAND phrase. Maybe Rand Waltzman, he and I have chatted about this and he's been at it for a long time..."cognitive security" i think is his.
