Are there any known ways to systematically reprogram typical class attitudes (from lower to upper middle class for example)? Not superficial stuff like dress or speech or table manners. Stuff like financial habits, education plans, work ethics etc.

I think of my grandparents who lived through the Depression. They had attitudes and habits related to living through the Depression, even in their later years. Early experiences tend to shape a person.

I think most people who change class update their attitudes and habits in a hodge-podge sort of way. The usual systematic version is a 2-generation project, where the children of the first generation grow up around peers of the new class, new geographical and cultural context.

Yeah, that's a decent analogy, especially since at least in North America in the past century the economy and culture is changing a lot, so the characteristics of classes are not the same over time, evolving like creoles. It might be different in a more stagnant society.
